From May 30 to June 1, 2025, Santa Flavia hosts the highly anticipated edition of the Thunnus Fest, the festival dedicated to the Mediterranean bluefin tuna, a historical and cultural symbol of the Sicilian maritime tradition. An event that combines flavors, knowledge and future visions, involving schools, institutions, local businesses and hundreds of citizens.
Among the events, the show cooking with starred chefs and restaurateurs of the area, who will enhance the bluefin tuna in an innovative way, combining it with the best organic agri-food products of the Piana di Baarìa. But the Thunnus Fest is also culture, with talk shows, photographic and painting exhibitions, guided tours of Solunto and meetings dedicated to the development of sustainable tourism and ethical fishing.
The event, supported by the Municipality of Santa Flavia and numerous public and private partners, confirms itself as a model of active participation of the community. Bluefin tuna is not only a gastronomic protagonist, but also a tool for territorial promotion, a shared identity and an engine of economic and cultural growth.
